Use the link to the Facebook video itself

  • Paste an individual public Facebook video, Reel or fb.watch link. A page's home feed does not tell the importer which recording you mean.
  • Select the spoken language, choose a translation if you need one, and click Generate captions.
  • Check names, times and locations in the transcript, then export a new video with subtitles or download the timed text separately.

Proofread practical details in a Facebook announcement

Treat an event date, meeting time or street address as a separate review step. Compare the subtitle with the recording and confirm the detail before publishing a new community video. A fluent-looking transcript can still contain an incorrect number.

For an interview, leave enough reading time for each answer and split cues where the speaker changes. A translated announcement needs the same check: preserve names and numbers, then review the wording in the language your audience will read.

Help viewers follow an update without audio

Community announcements and interviews often contain details people need to act on. Proofread dates, prices and addresses rather than assuming speech recognition has captured every digit correctly. Short, complete cues make those details easier to read while the speaker continues.

A crowded event recording benefits from text with a visible background or outline. Keep the subtitles clear of an existing event banner. If a clip switches between speakers, review the cue breaks so one person's last words do not linger over another person's response.

Create an export for your next post

Your download is a separate file, not an edit to an existing Facebook post. Embedded captions retain the style you chose when the file is shared elsewhere. Save SRT or VTT too if you want to keep a text version for a later editing workflow.

Common questions

Do videos in private Facebook groups work?

The importer cannot access a group or post that requires your Facebook login. Use a publicly accessible video link or upload a file you already have.

Can the tool publish the captioned video to my page?

No. You download the finished MP4 and upload it yourself. The tool does not need access to your Facebook page or posting permissions.

Do Facebook clips get a separate free quota?

No. The allowance is 3 videos a day without an account, or 5 with an account, each up to 120 seconds, shared with other platforms and file uploads. Free exports have a watermark; paid credits support longer clips and watermark-free exports.
