Refund Policy

This policy was last updated on 13 September 2026 and applies to CaptionCreator subscriptions. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

In short:

  • Refunds are not automatic and are not requested by cancelling your subscription.
  • Email hello@captioncreator.cc within 30 days of the first payment for your account's first subscription.
  • An eligible refund covers the unused part of that first payment, measured by unspent credits.
  • This refund is available once per account.

1. Eligibility and deadline

You may request a refund within 30 calendar days of the first payment for the first subscription your account has ever held. We must receive the email within that period. The eligibility period does not restart if you cancel, resubscribe, or open a later subscription.

Renewals and second or later subscriptions are not refundable under this policy. Your statutory rights, where applicable, are not affected.

2. How to request a refund

Email hello@captioncreator.cc from the email address registered to your CaptionCreator account. Include the account email and enough payment information for us to identify the first subscription payment. Requests are reviewed and processed manually.

Cancelling from your account page only stops the next renewal. It does not submit a refund request, and no refund is issued automatically when you cancel.

3. Refund amount

An eligible refund is the share of the first payment represented by subscription credits that remain unspent when we review the request. Credits already used for transcription or translation are not refundable because that service has already been delivered.

refund = (amount paid − non-recoverable payment-processing fees) × (unused credits ÷ credits included in the payment)

For a yearly plan, credits for future months that have not yet been delivered are treated as unused. Taxes and payment-processing fees are included only to the extent they are recoverable or required to be refunded by law.

4. What happens after approval

We issue an approved refund manually to the original payment method. The refunded subscription ends and the credits covered by the refund are removed from the account. Your bank or payment provider may take 5–10 business days to show an issued refund.

5. Exclusions and abuse

  • Requests received after the 30-day deadline.
  • Renewals and second or subsequent subscriptions.
  • Credits already spent, expired, or otherwise lapsed.
  • Accounts suspended or terminated for fraud, abuse, or a breach of our Terms of Service.

We may refuse or reduce a refund requested in bad faith or as part of an attempt to abuse this policy, including using multiple accounts to seek the first-subscription refund more than once. Any refund outside this policy is a one-time courtesy and does not create an obligation to repeat it.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect on the date of a payment applies to that payment.
