About Occitan transcription
Occitan (Occitan) is written in the Latin alphabet and spoken principally in southern France and neighbouring valleys. Subtitles generated here come back in that script, as ordinary written Occitan, ready to use in an SRT or VTT file.
Occitan covers several varieties — Provençal, Languedocien and Gascon among them — that differ enough in sound and vocabulary to complicate a single transcript. French is present in most recordings, and detection between Occitan and neighbouring Romance languages is not dependable.
