About Odia transcription
Odia (ଓଡ଼ିଆ) is written in the Odia script and spoken principally in Odisha, in eastern India. Subtitles generated here come back in that script, as ordinary written Odia, ready to use in an SRT or VTT file.
The Odia script is built from rounded, curved letterforms, a shape that came from writing on palm leaves, and it is visually distinct from the Devanagari and Bengali scripts used nearby. Its conjunct consonants make lines dense, so shorter subtitle blocks read better.
